3rd Annual AIDS WALK/RUN
Cancelled
Due to lack of available 5k venues, we regret to inform you that the walk will not be taking place this spring. First, our entire team would like to give a heartfelt apology to all those who were looking forward to participating in this event. Many of our current Board members have been with this organization since its inception, and they too are regretful of the current circumstances. Once again we are very sorry, but we as an organization are committed to this very important cause. We look forward to continuing to pursue programs in support of the cause, and coming back with a stronger walk next year.
AIDS Walk/Run Athens (AWRA) is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by students from the University of Georgia.
On March 1, 2008, over 700 college students and community members ran and walked for the first annual AIDS walk in Athens, Georgia, to raise over $14,000 for AIDS Athens. Since then, AIDS Walk/Run Athens has raised over $24,000 for AIDS Athens, Inc. This year, on February 13, 2010, our event will be a Peachtree Road Race qualifier!
